Fighting evil by Moonlight

I’ve been staring at the cover of my book for over 20 minutes, and then I thought about my childhood and how carefree it was. There was school of course, but I don’t remember caring about how much it will affect my life in the future. One thing that always kept me in a good mood afterschool was the boob tube!

It was a routine – wake up, go to school, lunch, recess, home, TV. Sailor Moon was one of my favorite shows. I’ve been re-watching the first episodes and realized that after every episode, there is a lesson to be learned. Serena would always speak at the end, either telling us how bad starving yourself is, or how important it is to be yourself.

What does TV tell us now? There’s no more Sailor Moon teaching us how to be a good person, but instead you have Hannah Montana showing you how great fame is and how cool it is to have 2 identities.

Is this the difference between kids then and kids now? You see little 10 year olds carrying bags that cost more than mine (sadly) walking around with their hair did walking alongside with their moms. What ever happened to walking (or flying) in Peter Pan's shoes?
